About Us Page Harnessing U.K. manufacturing to develop products that sell worldwide. Formed in 2003 use-it-more.com set out to tackle the problem of usability of above-ground swimming pools. The British Summer typically consists of 2 weeks sunny weather in June and another week of bright weather in September, and that's it !!!! Consequently the unheated outdoor swimming pool may only get used a handful of times each year. Use-it-more.com therefore set out on a mission to invent and distribute products that would enable you to heat your pool cost-effectively, shelter you from inclement weather, keep you fit, and help you relax after a hard day. The first product to be launched was "clip-it-on" "clip-over" (patent pending) an insulation clip that enables you to easily attach insulation to the side of an above-ground pool, and without damage, just as easily remove or replace it. clip,clip,clip.... job done ! Designed initially to fit a round Doughboy Pool the first "clip-it-on" to be produced suits vertical supports measuring 3" x 3" (76mm x 76mm). "Clip-it-on" clips to suit other pools are available on request. We have an extensive "clip library" and as we get the opportunity we're testing it out on further pools as people grant us access. Clips to suit Doughboy pools were on sale at Spatex in Brighton 5-7 February 2006. www.spatex.co.uk If manufacturers of other above-ground pools would like us to be selling clips to suit their pools, please let us know, HINT HINT HINT. Also on sale at Spatex was our Gain-N-Keep range of u.v. protected 200micron, 25mm wide 10mm deep bubble, ideal for doing the insulating job on above-ground and other pools. What works for above-ground pools also works for wooden-framed cedar greenhouses, and conservatories. The first 2 clips in this range fit current Alton and Malvern models. The range will be expanded to meet demand for clips to suit other models. Please let us know your requirements. Watch the "News" page as we bring forward our other products in development. Products are available direct from ourselves, but our stated aim is to appoint distributors of our products world-wide. How do we manufacture ? We started as a company with one man, Chris Brindle, who wanted to go swimming in his above-ground pool one sunny day in September, but didn't because the water was too cold, and the heater could not heat the water up faster than the swimming pool could lose its very expensive heat. He then set out to make things, and found that, if you know where to look there are all sorts of very clever people in the U.K. hiding away in little industrial units behind rusting containers, in converted agricultural buildings, and in Nissen Huts on abandoned WW2 airfields. Here were the people that supplied the components for the U.K. aeronautical and motor industries, and to some extent still do. The metal components are made in the West Midlands, Leicester, Essex and Suffolk, the polyurethane tubes are made by a hovercraft company in Southampton. The HVMP (high volume medium pressure) inflators used to blow up the tubes in Pleasure-Dome ™ and some polyurethane comes from Italy, but just about everything else is British. At the last count use-it-more.com had over 70 different suppliers ! We've now moved from prototyping to pre-production batches, and hold small stocks of all major components ready to make our launch products. In many areas we found that the technology did not exist so increasingly we've had to invent the techniques and tooling to make the products possible. In particular we are gearing up to make large volumes of inflatable tubes without seams and will sell the tubes to other manufacturers, licensing the Pleasure Dome stand and tube technology. Finally I must say a few words about Peter Randall who has joined me in this business. I dream it up - Peter knows how to make it and fix it ! We're a small invention-based company looking to expand on a worldwide basis. Our patent portfolio is as follows: Insulation Retaining Clip No GB 2 425 146 A & PCT/GB2006/050224 Support Stand for an Inflatable Tent Frame No GB 2 425 135 A & PCT Retaining Clip No GB 2 425 147 A & World Priority Underwater Furniture No GB 2 422 102 A & World Priority Pleasure-Dome, Gain-N-Keep, High-E, are registered trade marks in the U.K.
