The company's Chris Brindle has invented a clip that allows you to easily wrap (and unwrap) multiple layers of insulation around the side walls of above-ground pools, and has commissioned the specialist manufacture of exactly the right size and weight of UV protected bubble material for the job. He has also invented a revolutionary low-cost swimming pool enclosure for small pools and spas. Exhibiting at the show will be their range of Clip-It-On ™ insulation retaining clips and their Gain-N-Keep ™ insulation material. Gain-N-Keep is a UV protected 200 micron 25mm clear bubble material in rolls just the right size to wrap around an above-ground pool. Gain-N-Keep lets the sun's UV warm up the side walls of a pool, but stops losses from pool to atmosphere by conduction and convection. Gain-N-Keep also makes a great cover for the surface of a pool as USE-IT-MORE's High-E ™ covers are designed to be in limited contact with the pool water thereby again greatly reducing conduction and convection losses. Possibly the pičce de rčsistance will be Pleasure-Dome ™ which is their low cost pool enclosure, which in conjunction with their other products, makes above-ground pools and heaters so thermally efficient that swimming all year round outside at moderate cost becomes almost de rigueur. They would like to thank everyone who came to stand U188 and gave such valuable feedback on their new patent-pending product concepts. ABOVE GROUND POOL INSULATION With the noble exception of Doughboy U.K., the makers of steel-walled above-ground pools had told us there was no market for side wall insulation products for these pools. Their retail distributors told a different story. They told us that they had many customers coming back to them complaining that their pools lost heat as fast as their newly acquired heaters could pump it in. Retail users have for years been improvising their own solutions to above ground pool insulation with varying degrees of success. We now have a number of retail outlets who will work with us in developing insulation solutions for common brands such as Regatta, Equinox, Mirage, Discovery, Impact, and Allegro. Doughboy U.K. remain firm supporters and we will be looking to further develop the Above-Ground-Pool-You-Can-Swim-In-All-Year-Round concept, as related to Doughboy pools. Our product development plans for this season include retail display blister packs of “Clip-Behind” insulation clips, as well as highly attractive colourful closed cell foam insulation panels tailored for particular brands of pools. PLEASURE – DOME Pleasure-Dome is our patent-pending support structure system made from stainless-steel stands and permanently inflated polyurethane tubes. In-ground pool contractors immediately saw the benefits of this system for sheltering ground works, tiling, and pool renovation. It is likely that our first retail product will address this market. Following closely behind will be enclosures for small pools in difficult sites (e.g. above-ground pools, split-level and restricted-space sites). Existing enclosure dealers expressed interest in referring such leads to ourselves. We propose to work with leading large-surface film/fabric/canvas manufacturers to produce tailored covers for the Pleasure-Dome support structure. Such is the belief in the potential for inflatable tubes that our industry partners are working on the technology to produce seamless polyurethane tubes in diameters between 100 mm and 300mm with the intention of producing over ˝ million metres of the material for us per annum. Tubes of this type have never been produced before, and we propose to license Pleasure-Dome technology, creating a demand for the tubing from individual manufacturers world-wide. UNDERWATER HAMMOCK/ROCKING CHAIR Don’t laugh till you’ve tried it – if you’ve got a warm pool this is a complete stress-buster ! Future plans are to find suitable dealers of such pool related aspirational products in Europe and N.America. Constructed in
indestructible marine-grade stainless-steel this is a natural for a salt and
mineral salt environment, as well as sheer fun anywhere. Longer term we are
looking to license a leading plastics manufacturer to produce a mass-market
resin based product.
